Remote Server Monitoring and Management Services Network intrusions are on the rise and as more corporations connect to global
networks and add trusted systems to their infrastructure, intrusions will escalate
proportionally. According to a recent Computer Security Institute study, losses
from denial of service attacks in 1997 were estimated to be 777,000.00. In
1999 that estimate grew to 8.2 million and hacking attacks against computer systems
are estimated to have exceeded 265 million in total for 1999.
As companies expand corporate LAN's and intranets into the public Internet (or extranet service) security must be re-examined. What worked in the protected environment of the corporate intranet can be an invitation of welcome to hackers and kiddie scripters alike. As an IT administrator, you need to ask yourself this question: "Given the millions of potential hackers and scripters out there, can I keep-up with them and perform my job at the same time?" For most small to medium sized company IT departments, security is a position that remains unfilled until something drastic happens to shock the upper management into action. Until then, most IT managers are forced to ignore the problem or simply issue "quarterly security reviews" to keep their network "secure enough" to withstand the basic attacks A security consultant can analyze your network's strengths and weaknesses - keeping in mind your communications needs - and devise a cost effective solution that will protect your data and your network for outside attack. By closing security holes, supervising product upgrades and partitioning networks that need no direct public access, your Infinity Solution security consultant will "lock-down" your private network so your concerns can go back to managing your internal security hazards instead of the Internet.
The actual cost of the service obviously varies depending upon the scope of the network, number of exposed devices that need protecting and the capabilities of your network security devices (firewalls, routers, etc.). Typically, a network can be "locked-down" for less than $150/key-device when existing security equipment is in place. Adding routers, QoS switching and/or firewall/vpn equipment may drive the implementation costs somewhat higher. Either way, a evaluation plan for most networks costs between $250 and $500 and is 100% deductible against the cost of the final implementation if you choose to follow all or part of our security recommendations.
